BioAnalytics Instructions for Use Ver.0

1. Overview

BioAnalytics is software developed by BioIntelliSense to provide healthcare provider leaders with meaningful data to drive business operations. BioAnalytics is designed to provide operationally-relevant data — for example, tracking in-facility loss rates of wearable devices and tracking compliance with remote patient monitoring (RPM) programs for reimbursement purposes.
BioAnalytics is comprised of two components:
- BioAnalytics Dashboards — software dashboards that display analytics, key performance indicators, and other metrics generated by components of the broader BioSystem.
- BioAnalytics Reports — metric reports generated in Portable Document Format (PDF).
The data is aggregate statistics and simple calculations (for example, patient length of stay, devices administered, and number of patients discharged) that may be used to inform operational workflows and improve operational efficiency.

2. Intended Use and Indications for Use

The BioAnalytics is a series of dashboards and reports that display non-clinical and operational data to end users, which include hospital administrative staff, device distributors, business partners, and other operational personnel.
BioAnalytics Dashboards can include the Facility Loss Dashboard and the Shift Loss Dashboard. BioAnalytics Reports can include the RPM Vitals Data Report and the RPM Time Tracking Report.
The BioAnalytics is intended to be used by administrative or operational personnel only and is not intended to be used for clinical decision making, which should be the function of BioDashboard.

3. Warnings and Precautions

BioAnalytics is not intended to support time-sensitive decision-making. The data is not real time or near real time.
BioAnalytics is intended for facility administrative and operational use only. It is not intended for clinical use, and is not intended to inform patient care, diagnosis, or treatment.
BioAnalytics is not intended for critical care.

4. Use Instructions

4.1. Accessing BioAnalytics

BioAnalytics is accessed within BioDashboard. First, log in to BioDashboard:

Log in with your email and password
If your organization has Enterprise Single Sign-On (SSO) configured, select your organization from the list displayed.

Next, select BioAnalytics from the left-hand menu.

Available icons and access may vary depending on user permissions and monitoring workflow.

The BioAnalytics section has 2 analytics dashboards available: Unit Administration and Notifications Overview.

4.2. Unit Administration

The Unit Administration dashboards track device adoption and patient monitoring activity and flag lost BioButtons and loss trends. The following pages are available:

Device & Patient Monitoring Sessions
Tracks device utilization and patients monitored across the hospital system, facility, unit, and care setting. Counters show patients monitored and devices on-body for the current month and the trailing 12 months, with monthly and daily trend charts, to size program reach and forecast device inventory.

Button Loss Overview
Shows monthly device loss performance across the hospital system, including facility-level loss rates and counts, month-over-month trends, and the units with the highest year-to-date loss.

Weekly Loss Rate
Shows weekly device loss performance — loss rate and loss count — at the facility and unit level, so teams can track week-over-week movement.

Facility Loss Tracker
Lists lost BioButtons (not seen for 7 days), including unit, room, time last seen, and last known BioHub location, to target searches before a device is written off.

Unit/Shift Loss Tracker
Provides unit-level visibility into recently discontinued buttons (0–72 hours), including room and time last seen, so devices can be recovered by shift while the trail is fresh.

Key Definitions:
- Lost Device: A device is considered lost if it has not been seen in 7 days.
- Button Loss Rate: Potentially-lost devices divided by patients monitored.
- Patient Count: Distinct patients with at least one monitoring session during the period, counted once.

4.3. Notification Overview

The Notification Overview dashboards benchmark notification volume, type, and clinical significance across sites. The following pages are available:

Shows notification volume by type, the clinical versus non-clinical breakdown, and average clinical notifications per patient per day, to gauge notification burden and tune thresholds.

Shows which notifications lead to clinical escalation versus no action, and the mix of actions taken by notification type.

Key Definitions:
- Total Notification Volume: All notifications delivered to BioDashboard for review.
- % Clinical Notifications: Vital-sign and trend alerts (e.g., HR, RR, temperature, threshold, trending) as a share of the total.
- % Non-Clinical Notifications: Device-status alerts (e.g., low battery, low signal, off-body) as a share of the total.

4.4. Filtering and Downloading Data

Filtering
Use the dropdown menus at the top of each dashboard to filter by facility, unit, and date. In charts:
- Click a facility name to select it
- Hold the modifier key to select multiple facilities
- Click “Show all” to reset

Column sorting is available on any column and is not saved between sessions.

5. Definitions

Patient Count
Distinct patients monitored during the period, counted once regardless of how many devices or sessions.
Device Count
Activated devices, counted by unique Bio ID, tracked from activation to discharge or discontinue.
Lost Button
A device that has not been seen in 7 days.
Button Loss Count
Raw count of lost devices per unit for the selected date range.
Button Loss Rate
Potentially-lost devices divided by patients monitored.
Notification Volume
All notifications delivered to BioDashboard for review.
% Clinical / % Non-Clinical Notifications
Vital-sign and trend alerts, versus device-status alerts, as a share of all notifications.
